Tipping is a way to show your appreciation of someone going above and beyond their services.  

 First pre-view your contracts! Make sure the vendor or venue isn’t already automatically charging you a gratuity.

The average starts at 15%  and up.

When planning out your budget, keep in mind to build in the gratuity if it is not on the contract if you planning to tip.

Wedding Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist-

Expected and keep in mind your bridesmaids too! If everyone is paying individually tell the girls. Do the tipping at the end of the session.

Wedding Ceremony Officiant-

Usually if it is your home church a donations is appreciated. A nondenominational officiant usually charges one flat fee but if you do want to tip this should come from the best man after the ceremony.

Wedding Ceremony Musicians & Reception-

If you feel the group or individual did an exceptional music it would be best to tip $20.00 to $30.00 per person. Dj’s is about $50.00 to $150.00 depending upon if they are a employee of the company.

Wedding Photographer/Videographer-

If you hire a Photography/Videography Company that sends out an employee to work your wedding it is a nice gesture to tip. This should be done at the end of the evening.  This tip should be about $50.00 to $150.00.  If you hire a private photographer/videographer usually the price is one flat fee. Tipping is at your discretion. When you get your wedding album a follow-up with a Thank you letter to the company is good etiquette.

Wedding Reception Staff-

Most venues automatically build in a gratuity within their contract. This ranges 18 to 25 percent.

This does not include parking attendants. This is a dollar or two.

Wedding Transportation-

This is usually within the contract.
