Felicia Events: Tell us a little bit about the company and how it got started.
CJ’s Toffee Talk: Cousins, best friends, sisterly love, a Hawaiian 50th Birthday Party and a cherished childhood recipe was the inspiration behind Toffee Talk, our artisan award-winning confections company based in San Francisco. We both have had successful careers in the Real Estate and Investment worlds, but a trip celebrating Catherine’s 50th birthday with 12 of our closest friends brought a different sort of flavor and richness to our lives. Through many long talks, our friends recommended Catherine use her Godmother’s Toffee recipe to start a new career. Toffee Talk was born!
Felicia Events: You’ve won a lot of awards for a relatively new company. How does that feel?
CJ’s Toffee Talk: Wonderful! Our first award was the Best Confection/Best in Show Award out of 600 entries at the Marin County Fair, and then we knew it was not just our family and friends praising my product. We were on to something. Since then we’ve won many awards, including just recently the Gold in “Top Toffee” at the San Francisco Chocolate Salon. It just keeps reminding us we really do have a product worth sharing.
Felicia Events: How does it keep you motivated to keep growing your company?
CJ’s Toffee Talk: We hear so many wonderful things from everyone who tries our toffee, and we want everyone to experience it. We are growing quickly, but still dedicated to keeping the integrity – we hand make and break our toffee, and want to keep it a gift item, not a grocery item.
Felicia Events: Do you offer packages for weddings?
CJ’s Toffee Talk: Absolutely! We have a variety of different packages, flavors and sizes. We do custom orders often and pride ourselves in high attention to detail and superb customer service. Our best products for weddings are our two ounce cello bags with hand tied bows, or our one ounce pieces for hotel welcome bags.
